MS7000

Overview

The MS7000 includes 24 and 48-port 1 Gbit/s Ethernet ports with four 10Gbit/s SFP+ uplinks designed for fiber broadband networks to deliver data, voice and video services.

The MS7000 is a hybrid architecture, including both a switch ASIC for up to wire-speed performance and a network processor (NPU) for advanced service features and unique troubleshooting tools.

Built in a small form factor with unique front to side airflow, the MS7000 is a reliable platform for service delivery over many years. Extended temperature versions supporting -20 to +70 degree C allow deployment into harsh installation environments and all connectors in the front provides easy access. With up to 52 ports the MS7000 enables high density fiber to the home/business installations.

The MS7000 runs Waystream iBOS operating system, a feature rich and reliable software that provide advanced service features such as ingress/egress shaping with Weighted Fair Queuing and quality measurement and analysis of multicast TV. Various layer 2 features support public and private networks, wholesale and redundant networking for building highly available FTTx networks for business and residential users. As of iBOS 7.7.5 the platform also supports stacking for network management. The stacking feature in iBOS allows up to eight switches to be grouped together into a switch-complex that is managed by a single headnode. This creates a single logical switch from a network management point of view. The participating switches need to be connected to each other, but are not required to be in the same physical location.
