Waystream signs Value Added Distributor agreement with Vemi in Poland

Waystream AB, who develops and sells fibre-based broadband equipment, and Vemi has signed a distribution agreement. Within the agreement, Vemi will act as Value Added Distributor (VAD) in Poland and certain parts of Eastern Europe.

Vemi is a well-renowned distributor within the Enterprise and Telecom field. With its broad network and security offering, Vemi will be able to provide a good foundation for the marketing and sales of Waystream products in Poland as well as in some Eastern Europe markets.

”We have closely followed the development of FTTx in Poland and Eastern Europe for some time, and we believe that the market has significantly matured. In Poland and Eastern Europe it is now time to enter the actual building phase and roll out fibre-based networks. With that opportunity ahead, we are very happy to welcome Vemi to the Waystream ecosystem of partners and distributors. Vemi will not only bring a good reach into the markets, but they also bring highly technical and competent staff to support our business in a long term perspective,” says Johnny Hedlund, CEO Waystream.

The Polish broadband market has historically shown weak progress towards higher speed end user connections, but as a response to the Digital Agenda regarding bringing at least 30 mbps connections to 50% of all households in EU we now see more activities. There is also earmarked money from the EU to promote the build out of high-speed connections. With an increasing numbers of high-speed connections, services like Netflix and similar will be launching, which in turns drive the build out even more.

“We see the potential of rapid growth of FTTx-based solutions in Poland and that is the reason why we have turned our attention to this market. Waystream stands out among the infrastructure vendors by providing best-in-class technology and solutions. Their products are a perfect complement to our current portfolio that targets service providers and enterprise customers. Waystream also has an outstanding track record from the very competitive and demanding Scandinavian market as well as narrow focus on the FTTx. That combination makes them an excellent choice and we are excited to be able to offer Waystream’s solutions to our partners and customers in Poland and Eastern Europe,” says Adam Ksiazek, CEO of Vemi.
