Waystream wins another deal in Denmark - Energi Fyn buys equipment worth SEK 1.7 million

Waystream, who develops and sells advanced digital infrastructure such as switches and routers for fiber-based broadband networks, and the company's partner in Denmark, Conscia A/S, has received an additional order from the Danish Energi Fyn Bredbånd. The value of the new order is SEK 1.7 million and consists of access equipment that will be used for expanding the network.

Energi Fyn, who builds and operates fiber-based networks on Fyn in Denmark, is a recurring customer of Waystream. The new order includes access equipment, specifically Waystream ASR6000 and associated SFP (media converter). The order will be shipped immediately and will be used for the construction of new networks for Energi Fyn Bredbånd.

“Broadband via fiber is on the rise in Denmark and we really have a momentum on the Danish market. We are pleased to see that our access products do so well in such hard competition and we look forward to participating in providing even more residents on Fyn with a fast internet connection," says Mats Öberg, CEO of Waystream.

Fiber-based network is the fastest growing broadband technology in Denmark. According to the Danish Energy Agency's report on telecom statistics for the second half of 2016, the total number of broadband subscribers via fiber in Denmark increased by 12.2 percent from year-end 2015 to year-end 2016. This corresponds to approximately 55,000 new fiber subscribers and the total number of fiber subscribers at year-end 2016 was approximately 506,000.
