Waystream gets repeat order from Energi Fyn Denmark

Waystream, who develops and sells fiber based broadband equipment , has received yet another order from Energi Fyn Bredbånd in Denmark via our partner Conscia A/S. The size of the new order is approximately 1 million SEK.

Access equipment comprising ASR6000 and related SFPs will be shipped immediately and will be used in the rollout of new networks in Energi Fyns broadband network.

Fiber networking is the fastest growing broadband technology in Denmark and since 2013 the total number of broadband subscribers has risen by almost 25% nationwide. This means that approximately 73,000 new fiber subscribers have signed up during 2013-2015 which indicates a strong increase in the demand for faster connections and data speeds at a national level in Denmark.

“We are naturally very pleased with Energi Fyn Bredbånds continued confidence. We have continuously delivered access equipment to them as and when they have increased the size of their fiber network for Danish consumers and the Danish market looks as if it will continue to quickly expand, just like the other markets in Europe” says Waystream CEO, Johnny Hedlund.

In the coming years, the market for fiber is expected to double in Europe and the 31 million connections in 2014 is predicted to reach 62 million in the next four years. This means that 20% of European homes will be connected to fiber networks (FTTH/FTTB) by 2019. [1].
